Our mixed group trio, two men and a woman, goes by the name of: “2 - R - MORE”. Our group name comes from the scripture passage Mathew 18: 20. Our group is gathered from several churches. Hugh and his family are members at Gravely Memorial UMC but are currently attending Spartanburg Community Church. He is certified in lay speaking for local churches. Chad and his wife Tanya are members at Bethlehem Baptist. Hiley & Joan (husband and wife) are members of New Horizon Community Church of The Nazarene. We stay active in our respective churches and attend them when at home. We have each found our salvation through Jesus Christ.
Our experience as musicians and/or singers when combined covers many years of experience. The current group was brought together in the spring of 2001 and grew fast but Chad was called out of our group in 2004 to help at home with his family. He rejoined the group in June of 2006 and we all have peace about this rejoining. We feel the Lord working in and through our group and His anointing on our work and us. We are blessed with the activities that have already taken place and new opportunities make their way into our lives almost daily. Our mission is to touch the hearts of all who hear with the words given to us by our Savior as we plant the seed of salvation so He can make it grow. We offer, with God’s guidance, our own personal heart felt expression to deliver His word through song, testimony and witness using our own God given gifts.
As for the music used to bring this ministry to God’s children, we offer a variety of songs. Although we have many Southern Gospel favorites in our portfolio of songs we feel lead to use the songs the good Lord is placing on our heart to write. Each member of the group has been blessed with words to write one or more Gospel songs, which we are currently using. The tempo of all songs used range from slow and heart warming to fast and very uplifting. We also have some seasonal songs such as: Christmas, Easter, patriotic and etc. Of coarse these songs are used during the season to which they relate. We arrange the songs we will use for any given service to match the needs as lead by our Savior. Most songs are delivered where one member will sing the lead during a verse and chorus and other members will share harmony through the chorus. We mix this up a lot so that at some point each member of the group will carry the lead vocal on several different songs used during a service. With this type of arrangement we can offer a very wide variety of songs with each being a little unique to the lead vocal and with a different but unique sound of the group.
We have finished two projects with duplications made available for sale. The last project we recorded was with the Millennium Music Group. Millennium has released three songs off this project to national radio. The last two songs released, "Hold Me Up Lord" & "If I Could Live My Live Over" made it on the chart with Christian Voice Magazine's top 100 songs in the Nation. We believe this to be only the beginning of a new era and avenue for our music ministry. All praise be to God.
We thank the Lord for all opportunities to serve for we know it will help our ministry grow and the more we grow the more opportunities we have to share.
Sincerely, Chad, Hiley, Hugh & Joan |
